Users
The KiiAccess platform categorizes users in two different flavours. From an integrator perspective it is important to know the difference so the right features from KiiAccess can be utilized to meet the correct needs and expectations from the appliance owner and its users.
Mobile Users
A mobile phone number (E.164 formatted) are always used as the identity of a mobile user. With mobile users it is possible to use all KiiAccess features connected to mobiles, such as mobile access keys and notifications (such as sms messages). Which features that are utilized depends on which features the appliance owner has choosen to enable.
Note that the KiiAccess API does not have any restrictions on creating mobile users even if there is no mobile features enabled by the appliance owner. In that case the mobile phone number just function as the users identity. However, it will not be possible to create mobile access keys, unless this feature is enabled.
None-Mobile Users
As an alternative to Mobile users, there is also possible to create users that doesn't have any connection to mobile features. Without any use of mobile fetures, it doesn't make any sense to use a mobile phone number as the user identity. This is also a highly important aspect to consider from a privacy perspective. For None-Mobile users a uuid is used as the identity.
User Identites
The table below summarizes the differences between the user types.
